Laser cutting could be from science fiction!
Laser cutting technology uses a focused laser beam to precisely cut through various materials.
The laser beam is directed through a series of mirrors and lenses, focusing the beam to a small spot size. This concentrated beam of light is then directed onto the material to be cut. As the laser beam interacts with the material, it heats it up to vaporisation or melting.
The laser beam melts or vaporises the material precisely along a cutting path created from a digital drawing of the shape to be cut. The focused laser beam can make narrow and accurate cuts, making intricate shapes and designs cut with minimal material wastage.
Laser cutting is exact and accurate, allowing for complex and intricate designs to be cut without additional tools or setups. The non-contact nature of the process reduces the risk of material deformation or damage.
Laser cutting is used in manufacturing, fabrication, and prototyping industries.
